Hillend plan £500,000 new look......

The Midlothian Snow-sports Centre at Hillend, on the outskirts of Edinburgh, has submitted a planning application for an extra 210-metre slope, 80 metres of new nursery slope, extension and improvement work to existing nursery slopes – with safer ski matting – new snowtubing runs and installation of two travelator uplift systems.

It's Nessie, oh no it's not??!.....A HUGE thank you to Lauren who ran the Loch Ness Marathon on October 3rd to raise money for DSUK. Great effort :) Thank you!

Brighton Marathon goes pre-historic!

Friends Neil and Pete are taking part in the Brighton Marathon to raise money for DSUK. As well as setting themselves the phenomenal target of £2000, they are taking part in the event as cavemen. They are so dedicated to the cause that they have now started to grow their beards and hair and won’t be cutting it off till the event is over! Please support the guys on this fantastic challenge – and as an added incentive, once they get to £500, they will be taking part in a chest wax! (Ouch!!! Good luck with that!)

Shaun NEEDS your help......!

Our instructor Shaun, from the indoor slope at Braehead is looking for some fundraising ideas - so far we have had a sponsored leg and back wax...Come on guys I am sure you lot can come up with heaps of ideas - Don't worry Shaun I am sure they will be nice to you ;)

Josh Dueck was an aspiring skier and coach until a ski accident in 2004 changed his life for good. After coming to the realization that he would never walk again, Josh made a conscious decision to make the best of a terrible situation. Within 1 year he was back on snow doing what he loved, and shortly after, his determination took him to the top of the podium in the sport of Sit-skiing. Despite his success in the world of competitive skiing, he wasn't satisfied as a skier. Josh's dream is to tackle the backcountry, and the steepest and wildest mountains in the world. In ‘The Freedom Chair’, it's a dream fulfilled.

1st snow fall in the Cairngorms...woop woop!!!

Yipppeeeee!!

We have our first dusting of snow on the tops of the Cairngorms. It is very chilly outside but the view from inside our cosy office is well worth it. How lucky we are!! :)

Cake Mondays at Milton Keynes......YUM!!

Cake and Ski On is an event which has been running every Monday at SNO!zone in Milton Keynes for the past month, to raise funds for Disability Snowsport UK. Staff donate their delicious homemade goodies which are then sold for a donation and ALL proceeds go to DSUK.Yesterday the guys and girls raised £92.95 on cakes...A big welldone and thank you to them :)

To date the total amout raised is £269.30....an incredible amount raised by hungry cake fans!!
